The Deep Sequencing platform includes state-of-art instrumentation such as an Illumina GenomeAnalyzer IIx and cBot. A variety of protocols and data analysis pipelines are established, including transcriptome sequencing (RNA-Seq), multiplex sequencing, ChIP-Seq, exome sequencing and targeted re-sequencing. Deep Sequencing on the Illumina GenomeAnalyzer IIx generates hundreds of millions of sequence reads in a single run. Read length of currently up to 150 bp, yielding a maximum of 90 GB data per run. Additionally, the facility is equipped with two 35 TB file servers and a 40-core HPC cluster to manage and analyze the acquired data.
