Fermenter

This facility permits fermentation on an large scale. The platform is equipped with two setups: one small (15 l) and one large (200 l) working volume fermenter for the cultivation of yeast cells (S. cerevisiae, S. pombe). All fermentation parameters including temperature, pressure, stirring rate and oxygen level are controlled externally, resulting in highly reproducible cultivation conditions. Cultures are harvested in continuous flow centrifuges yielding the biomass.
